Training

The official training schedule has been posted for CFF teachers. If you are not an official CFF teacher, you may still aquire training times. Just email me an open period that will work and we can meet.

Wiki Video

One of the major things we have been working on in sessions has been building video libraries in wikispaces. Check out Ms. Sumners! This practice can make your streaming video experience much more user friendly and school safe. In addition to this I ahve found a firefox add-on that allows you to download streaming video. You would need to install outside of school since the program is a shareware add-on. You cna find that under the web links section of the website.

Web 2.0

Check out Ms. Makatche's web 2.0 page for some cool free resources that can make your learning environment much more fun for yourself and your students.

Additional Coach

Finally, Mr. Billy Simpson has arrived from North Carolina. He will soon send a district-wide email introducing himself. His role will be similar to mine in the middle school and elementary schools. His website is currently under construction. I will add a link to our as soon as it is up and running. He will be with me on a few trainings to get his feet wet, although he is hardly new in education as he taught for 7 years and has been in administration for 14. His addition to our district will be very positive as we progress.

Do not worry. Embedded Learning will continue to send updates of expected progress throughout our open window for taking the course. These updates allow for one to better plan the amount of time allocated for taking the course if one was going to finish before the June deadline. As almost all of us have finished the course, these do not apply.

I have posted next week's schedule on my site. Please refer to the time planned to meet and record it on your calendar. Looking forward to working with all of you. If you would like additional time, or would like to start individual training, please email or skype with your planning period so we can schedule.

Additionally, the spread of skype has been wonderful, but with all new tools come an owner's manual and numerous options. Please schedule a time if you choose to use this tool on a everyday basis. I have met with most all of you and gone over some functions and set it up, but a few extra options have risen. Please use this tool for academic purposes.

To make it so pop-up windows do not appear on your screen:
1. open skype.
2. click on tools on the top toolbar.
3. select options.
4. select notifications.
5. uncheck starts a chat with me.

Camera:
I will be bringing a camera around some rooms and asking you 2 questions over the next few days so that I can put together a video. The video is for a grant that Bernadette has found. The questions are.....
